Marine Medical International has joined with
Maritime Health Services (MHS) of Seattle to provide yachts with
a comprehensive telemedicine service worldwide. MHS operates 24-hours
a day, 365 days a year. Their physicians have provided over 11,000
physician consultations to vessels at sea and remote locations worldwide.
Their goal is to assist our clients' efforts to provide optimal
medical care at sea, in port or in any remote work location. Early
intervention is effective in reducing or avoiding medical complications
that are likely to disrupt the vessel's sailing or work schedule.
Medical officers are encouraged to contact MHS physicians early
in the course of an illness or soon after an injury so that optimal
medical attention can be initiated promptly. Maritime Health Services
keeps corporate medical staff and vessel managers informed of medical
events at sea. When serious illness or major trauma requires an
emergency evacuation or vessel diversion, the MHS consulting physician
will immediately contact a designated representative to coordinate
efforts with the company or vessels' operating procedures and management.

Medical emergencies can happen to anyone,
anywhere. If someone falls victim to illness or accident, the event
doesn't discriminate against whether the person is near a hospital
or away at sea - whether they're traveling alone or with a medical
professional.
That's why MedAire has been providing immediate medical assistance
to travelers isolated from their primary source of medical care
since 1986. Today, through its MedLink services, those resources
are put to use onboard aircraft, ships at sea and throughout the
world - from desolate jungles to hotel rooms in foreign cities.
Services include global emergency assistance, medical training and
train-the-trainer programs, medical kits, defibrillation solutions,
remote vital sign monitoring and more. Clients include corporate
travelers, commercial airlines, business flight departments, governments
and maritime operators.
